【摘要】:Theproceduresinthispracticesupportthedeterminationoftheburnhazardpotentialforaheatedsurface.TheseproceduresprovideanestimateofthemaximumskincontacttemperatureandmustbeusedinconjunctionwithGuideC1055toevaluatethesurfacehazardpotential.Thetwoproceduresoutlinedhereinarebothbaseduponthesameheattransferprinciples.MethodAusesamathematicalmodeltopredictthecontacttemperature,whileMethodBusesaplasticrubberprobehavingsimilarheattransfercharacteristicstothehumanfingertox201C;measurex201D;thecontacttemperatureonrealsystems.Theseproceduresserveasanestimatefortheskincontacttemperatureswhichmightoccurforthex201C;averagex201D;individual.Unusualconditionsofexposure,incorrectdesignassumptions,subjecthealthconditions,orunforeseenoperatingconditionsmaynegatethevalidityoftheestimations.Theseproceduresarelimitedtodirectcontactexposureonly.Conditionsofpersonalexposuretoperiodsofhighambienttemperatures,directflameexposure,orhighradiantfluxesmaycausehumaninjuryinperiodsotherthandeterminedherein.Evaluationofexposuresotherthandirectcontactarebeyondthescopeofthispractice.ColdSurfaceExposure8212;Noconsensuscriteriaexistsforthedestructionofskincellsbyfreezing.If,atsomefuturetime,suchcriteriaaredeveloped,extrapolationofthetechniquespresentedherewillserveasabasisforcoldsurfaceexposureevaluation.1.1Thispracticecoversaprocedureforevaluatingtheskincontacttemperatureforheatedsurfaces.Twocomplimentaryproceduresarepresented.Thefirstisapurelymathematicalapproximationthatcanbeusedduringdesignorforworstcaseevaluation.Thesecondmethoddescribesthethermesthesiometer,aninstrumentthatanaloguesthehumansensorymechanismandcanbeusedonlyonoperatingsystems.Note18212;BothprocedureslistedhereinareintendedforusewithGuideC1055.Whenusedinconjunctionwiththatguide,theseprocedurescandeterminetheburnhazardpotentialforaheatedsurface.1.2AbibliographyofhumanburnevaluationstudiesandsurfacehazardmeasurementisprovidedintheReferencesattheendofGuideC1055.ThermesthesiometerandmathematicalmodelingreferencesareprovidedintheReferencesattheendofthispractice(1-5).1.3Thispracticeaddressestheskincontacttemperaturedeterminationforpassiveheatedsurfacesonly.Theanalysisprocedurescontainedhereinarenotapplicabletochemical,electrical,orothersimilarhazardsthatprovideaheatgenerationsourceatthelocationofcontact.1.4ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasstandard.Nootherunitsofmeasurementareincludedinthisstandard.1.5Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
