【摘要】:Inalayeredapproachtoprotocolarchitecture,protocolshavearelationshiptooneanothersuchthataprotocolatlayer(n)usestheservicesofthelayerbelowit-the(n-1)services-which,inturn,areprovidedbyalayer(n-1)protocol.Oneoftheservicesusedbyalayer(n)protocolistheencapsulationofits(n)ProtocolDataUnits(PDUs)inawaywhichistransparenttoit.Suchencapsulationisrealizedbythecarriageofthe(n)PDUsasuserdatainan(n-1)ServiceDataUnit(SDU).Inalimitedcase,theoperationofaparticularprotocolatlayer(n-1)impliestheoperation,abovelayer(n-1),ofasinglelayer(n)protocolorsinglesetofrelated(n)/(n+1)...protocols.However,inamoregeneralcase,theremaybemorethanoneprotocol(orsetofrelatedprotocolsstarting)atlayer(n)thatcanoperateabovelayer(n-1)inagivenenvironment.Insuchcases,thereisaneedforexplicitidentificationoftheprotocol(orsetofprotocolsstarting)atlayer(n).Therealsomaybeaneedtomanipulatethe(n-1)protocol(i.e.theencapsulatingprotocol)incertainwaysspecifictothelayer(n)protocol(i.e.theencapsulatedprotocol).Suchmanipulationsformthebasisofasetofproceduresthatmustbespecifiedforthelayer(n)protocol.Theaboveobservationsregardingprotocolidentificationandencapsulationarealsoapplicableincaseswherean(n)layerisfurtherdividedintosublayers.Casesinwhichan(n)protocoloperatesforthepurposeofestablishingaparalleluniverseofprotocols(regardlessofthelayeredstructureofthatuniverse)alsogiverisetoaneedforthe(n)protocoltobeabletoidentifytheprotocol(s)intheparalleluniverse.Inthesecases,however,thereisnoencapsulating/encapsulatedrelationshipbetweenthe(n)protocolandtheparalleluniversesetofprotocols.Theaboveprinciplesleadtoaneedtoestablishaframeworkforprotocolidentificationandencapsulation.Theseprinciplesapplytotherelationshipbetweentwoprotocols(recognizingthatoneofthemmaybeasetofrelatedprotocols)andcanbeappliedrecursively.ThisRecommendation|InternationalStandardprovidesaframeworkforexplicitprotocolidentificationandforprotocolencapsulation.Implicitprotocolidentification(see4.2)isbeyondthescopeofthisRecommendation|InternationalStandard.
