【摘要】:ThisPublishedDocumentgivesguidanceonthedevelopmentandimplementationofplansandstrategiesfortheassessmentofexposurebyinhalationofnanomaterials,basedonanunderstandingofthenatureoftheexposureandthecapabilitiesandlimitationsofexposuremeasurementinstrumentation.Itisapplicabletoallworkplacesettingsinwhichnano-objects,includingnanoparticlesandnanotubes,aremanufactured,processedorused.Sourcesofotherdataandinformationarealsoprovided.ThePublishedDocumentdescribesastructured,step-by-stepapproachtoexposureassessmentwhichtakesintoaccountthepurpose,thetypeofinformationneeded,andtheusefulnessandlimitationsofthevariousapproachesforexposureassessmentfordifferenttypesofnanomaterials,andprovidesarationaleformethodselection.ThisPublishedDocumentisintendedtocomplimentthedevelopmentandtake-upofnewnanotechnology-basedmaterialsinUKindustrybyprovidingmanufacturersandusersofthesematerialswitheffectivestrategiesforassessingworkerexposuretoairbornenanomaterials.Giventheemergentnatureoftheknowledgebaseinthisarea,theguideistargetedattheprofessionaluserwhoalreadyhassomeknowledgeandexperienceofexposureassessmentandoccupationalhygienepractice.
